Mary J. Blige can look forward to an appearance on the legendary \»Super Bowl Half Show\» in 2022. We are also happy about a new album of the US-American R\’n\’B icon and \»Queen of Hip-Hop Soul\»: \»Good Morning Gorgeous\» is the name of the 14th longplayer of the singer and songwriter. The follow-up to 2017\’s \»Strength Of A Woman\» is a call to self-love.
She pre-released two singles from the record, the title track and the track \»Amazing.\» \»Working on this new album has been so much fun. I\’m excited for my fans to hear these first two songs to give them a taste of what\’s to come,\» Blige said in a press release.
She co-wrote the soulful ballad \»Good Morning Gorgeous\» with D\’Mile, H. E.R., Lucky Daye and Tiara Thomas. H. E.R. also handled the production of the single along with D\’Mile, contributing guitar and background vocals. In the song, the singer addresses overcoming self-doubt. Blige comments, \»I\’ve earned the right to say \’I feel great.\’ When I wake up with no hair and no makeup, I accept the chick who goes to the bathroom, and I like her. I spend a lot of with myself. I\’m my own best friend.\»
The second single, the danceable soul myne \»Amazing\» featuring DJ Khaled, is also about accepting and loving yourself. The song was written by Blige, Denisia Andrews, Brittany Coney, Khaled, Streetrunner, Tarik Azzouz, Willie Cobbs and Ellas McDaniels. Khaled produced the song along with Streetrunner and Azzouz.
