Across a career that spanned six decades, Mancini received an astounding number of accolades for his work, including 20 Grammy Awards. Although he would enjoy consistent success throughout his life, it was during the late 1950s and early 1960s, when Mancini began composing entire film scores independently, that he produced his most legendary work. This 4 x CD collection, totaling almost five hours of his finest soundtrack work from 1958 to 1963, contains nine complete Mancini records. In completion, this set perfectly demonstrates the huge talents of this master composer, as he almost single-handedly transformed the accepted role of what a movie score could achieve.
